Annual Sundance Native American STEM Scholarship
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Sundance Native American STEM Scholarship fund annually awards two $1,000 scholarships to students of Native American or Alaska Native descent. Scholarships may be used for tuition, books, fees, on-campus meal plans, and/or on-campus housing.
The deadline for application is June 15. The Scholarship Committee reviews applications and notifies scholarship awardees by June 30, via mail and telephone. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Scholarships do not automatically renew each academic year; however, former awardees may re-apply for the scholarship annually.
APPLICANT CRITERIA
- Native American or Alaska Native descent (student must have Certificate of Indian Blood OR a Tribal membership card from a federally recognized Tribe. Guidelines set forth by the federal Indian Education Act, Section 453(a); 20 US Code 122h(a) will also be considered.
- Attending, or enrolled to attend the academic year following scholarship award, as a full-time student at an accredited 2- or 4- year college, university, technical school, or vocational school within a legal state or territory of the United States. Please include a copy of your acceptance letter or proof of re-enrollment with your application and documentation of full-time status.
- Seeking a degree or certificate in a STEM field.
- Working toward a first undergraduate degree. Prior degree holders are not eligible.
- GPA of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and community involvement. Please provide details on your application.
The Scholarship Committee will select an awardee without regard to gender, religion, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law.
